Maddie Case

"Look Mom, it's my best friend."
Maddie, she made a joke that made Sydney cry once. Then she spent hours playing with her and now Sydney is sure they are best friends. Sydney was very happy to get this poster sporting her BFF's picture.

Our Soccer Stud

This kid loves this game! And he's a pretty talented little defender and goalie.

Feeding the teams

I didn't get any pictures of the women's team meal... dang!
But here are a few from the men's.
And the first few... of my kids are because they were so stinking helpful!! Holy moly. Monday we fed the girls, I went shopping for food at 10, got home at 11, unpacked, ate lunch and started cooking at 12... I didn't finish until they arrived at 5:45. And then the next day I got to do it all over again. And my boys were so super helpful. They cleaned and brought up chairs and tables. I couldn't have done it without them!

Alumni

The first game of every season is the Alumni game. My kids were excited to go--well the littles, Tim was at work... and he wouldn't have been excited. haha.

Seth asked and asked about Phil, this guy who played for Jeff a couple years ago. Seth loved him and was so excited to see him. He stood on the sidelines and yelled his name over and over again but Phil never heard him. It was all good though, Seth drew him a picture and caught up with him eventually!

TP... Again

Jeff's sophomores TPed our house again and then the freshman came, were blamed and cleaned it up.

Maddie teased Sydney and made her cry and was teased relentlessly about it for days afterwards. But when we fed the girls a few days later Sydney and Maddie became best of friends. In fact Sydney took Maddie into her room and I forgot Maddie was even at our house still--they were in there so long!

Vaca: the Monarchs Game!

After mini golf we checked into the hotel and then headed to our Monarch's game. We were excited they were playing our free night in Colorado Springs. Minor League games have a lot of fun aspects! The tickets are cheap, all the seats are good and the players walked right by us so the kids got to high five them all!
This is one of the assistant coaches. Landon had on his REAL Salt Lake scarf and since the Monarchs are REAL's minor team he stopped and talked to the boys. They thought it was the coolest!

This guy was the opposing team, the Switchback's mascot. Syd loved him swapped teams because of him. haha.

TP

Bonding games... passing the torch rituals... it's girl's soccer and my husband is their ring leader. The sophomore girls came by our house, with my husbands permission, my husbands idea acutally, and using our own toilet paper, they TPed our house. Then they blind folded the freshman girls and brought them to our house to make them look like the guilty party. Jeff was supposed to act mad or surprised or something... but he was neither of those things. haha. They pretty much knew what was happening. They didn't know they had to clean it up. But they did.
Next year when the brand new freshman do it, maybe they'll be more nervous.

These girls new the sophomores and my husband all too well and all they did was rope him and blind fold him.

In my bed... And not in my bed...

Have I mentioned Jeff's gone... a lot right now? Yeah... I have. This lady seems to know when daddy is away and sometime in the night she ends up in bed with me. She's a sweet face to wake up to.

And of course who isn't in my bed!

Yeah, he's with a bunch of college kids.
One of his players, Marlee, sent these gems to me. :)

Lately....

I see him more like this than in person.

This soccer season has been busy. Like super crazy never ever ever with us busy. Coaching both the boys and the girls team at the college has been an interesting experience for both of us. Good and bad. We both love both teams. It's been so cool to see Jeff adjust his coaching to women and what we as girls need--because it's different. And in return I think he's learned a lot. The girls love him and they are very grateful. For the first time in 15 years of coaching I have been told thank you several times by players.
It's good.
It's also really hard.
He's never home.
Ever.
We all miss him.
And Sydney says about 200 times a day. "Daddy go bye."
I think we're all ready for this wonderful season to come to an end. :)

The cutest soccer player ever

Yep, that's her.

Soccer Saturday

Sydney and Seth are playing soccer this fall. Seth was so excited to get back to soccer and this is Sydney's first season.
They're both having tons of fun!

Daddy got to come to one of Sydney's games! :)

Seth's been playing goalie for half his games and he loves it. He's a good little goalie too!
