Mani - Pedi

After instructing me on how exactly to pain her fingers and toes, she then painted mine exactly the same as hers. TWINS!--it's her favorite concept. ;)

Crinkle nose...

She likes to recreate her baby crinkle nose grin.
We like it too. She's pretty adorable.

Bri's Shower

My girl loves our Bri. She talks about her regularly and wants to get her hair cut all the time just to see her. So of course she went with me to Bri's shower. Bri's niece Roxy was there and the two had a good ol' time together!

Syd was sure Bri's baby would be there. She told me, "Bri said after Christmas..." But he wasn't. haha! She also asked and then approved of Bri's baby names. Bri certainly appreciated that. haha.

Fasting

I was reminding the boys that tomorrow is fast Sunday. Sydney has been telling me all day that she wants to fast too. Seth and I were talking about what he would be fasting for when she says "I know what I'm fasting for. A peanut butter jelly sandwich."

Pierced!

I kind of feel like I am growing her up too fast with all these "firsts". Sydney has been asking to get her ears pierced for a several months. I told her it would hurt--she was not concerned. So, I told her she needed to earn it. We made a clean room chart and a good attitude chart. She worked hard for a couple of months and just after Christmas her charts were filled. She was ready that very second to head out!! But I made an appointment with the pediatrician--he pierces ears and they use numbing cream. My experience getting my ears pierced was a bit traumatic.... complications, earing had to be pushed through my ear, LOADS of pain, I passed out... good times. So! When I heard our doctor did it, I thought, numbing cream, someone who knows what they're doing and for sure sterile equipment. Yes, please.
I made an appointment, she had to wait a week. Oh dreadful. haha! It went quick though. We pulled up to the doctors office and she sighed and said, "I wanted to go to the mall." ...see? She is growing up way too fast and I feel like I am just pushing it along allowing things like pierced ears!
It was great though. No pain. Pink daisy's. Big smiles. She is totally thrilled. Someone will say to her, "Hi Sydney, how are you?" And she'll say, "I got my ears pierced!" haha.

The Band and a little Penelope

It's a terrible pic... but Seth, Syd and I formed a band. We rocked out. We may go on the road, who knows.
This kid was telling me goodnight, I was already in bed, but watching the movie Penelope. He's always been my boy who would watch old movies with  me--Doris Days, Debbie Reynolds and then a good chick lit too. He snuggled up to me and an hour later finally went to bed.

Rag Ringlets... sort of

Momma used to put my hair in rag ringlets all the time. With church at 9 am on Christmas morning, I knew I'd want some fast cute hair for the Syd. YouTube showed me an easy breezy method and we tried it out..

Cookies for Santa!

She's my favorite baking partner! And we baked our favorite cookies for Santa.

And the left over chocolate was too yummy to throw away.... so all the Christmas goodies that our neighbors and friends bought, I dipped in it... which is probably why I am certain to have a lose ten pound goal again this year. haha!

Christmas at School

Sydney's school had an ugly sweater day. I'm sad we didn't get a picture of the cute "silly" sweater we made. (she thought it was very silly to want to wear an ugly sweater, so we called it silly) Anyway, the sweater day came and Syd wasn't feeling well and stayed home from school. Sad. But the next day she felt much better and she still wore her sweater.
The last day of school for the HS was a make up day. Tim had nothing to make up so he stayed home. I love this 17 year old of mine. I asked him if he wanted to go to his siblings school parties and of course he did! Seth and Sydney were so excited to see their brother!

Santa Sighting #3

Syd's last sighting of Santa was at our ward party.
She loves him.
She told me she is sure his best friend is Jesus.

Santa Sighting #2

Aunt Kris and I took Syd to the mall to see Santa... again... our visit at Walmart was pretty un-amazing. The stinking mall won't let you take pictures though, they charge 25$. Which is super lame and very unChristmas-like. So, Kris stood back and took pictures. haha! He was a very sweet Santa and Sydney thought he was wonderful.

Trees and FH

This sweetie wanted to decorate her Grandma Bell's tree this year. She is so tender and sweet when it comes to her Grandma Bell.

Recently she also asked me if I would help her find green temples. I love that she wanted to!!
So, I let her guide me on Family Search, I told her our family names and she picked where we went. We worked for maybe an hour and she found 17 green temples!! She was thrilled!

Santa Sighting #1

This girl. She is my right hand man and I am so grateful for that.
She and I went to Walmart and we were going to head to the mall afterword to see Santa, but the first person we ran into at Walmart was the man himself... so of course he couldn't be at the mall too. :)

Wyoming Day

Sydney school celebrated Wyoming Day! None of our other schools have ever done that, we were both excited. Me, because I love this state. Syd because to her that meant her cheerleading outfit!

They had a buffalo Bill program and I am so sad I missed it! I have had multiple people tell me how adorable Sydney was! They picked her to be in the program and her teacher said she was the star of the show! Her principal commented to me, other mom's. Thank goodness her sweet teacher sent me a picture and a video!

Kayte Found!

I didn't even know she was missing, but we opened up the stuffed animal bin and Sydney shrieked with job--she'd found her Kayte Bear! and then she stood at the bottom of the stairs hugging her for I don't know how long.

Pretty

This is probably my 325th post about Sydney's style... but she is kind of adorable and she really does have her own little style.

And we just go with it... no matter what. :)
