Books... finally

I mentioned a few posts ago the four week wait for my books.

Very very very frustrating.

Also very frustrating, when they finally showed up, this is how the box looked.

Really, I'm just grateful they came.

I was writing away when Sydney came over in this box... she said to me, "You say: I hope it's my books!"

yeah... she's been hearing that a lot.

 

Book Sales

I had a big Black Friday Sale for books... I couldn't believe how many books I sold, it was wonderful. I ran out and had to order more. I have never had issues ordering books before... but of course, with so many sold and many already paid for I had lots of issues. My box of LIKE HOME books came in, but for some reason the printer split up my order of Knowing Amelia and I only received 5 books. The rest didn't come for four more weeks and that was with several emails and phone calls. What a mess. Thank goodness everyone who bought from me was extremely kind and understanding. I sold a lot more KA's than LH's, so when my friend Tracy messaged me saying that she wanted 10 books... and she didn't care which one, I was very excited! Her husband gave them to all the women in his office and she sent me this picture of the final product. :)

We weren't gone long, in fact we came home Thanksgiving night.

So, the next day the kids and I cleaned up the house and then we busted out the Christmas décor! Amongst the Christmas decorations are our Christmas books. Seth loves to read to Sydney--which she loves of course. So, they sat and read Christmas book after Christmas book.

Black Friday Sales

 I spoke to the Rock Spring's Women's club. I talked about family and writing. And it was really pretty fun. A bunch of sweet ol' gals. Anyway, it gave me a little high and on a whim I came home and did a live Facebook video offering a Black Friday sale. I could not believe the success. I had to order more of both books to fill the orders!

Reading :)

This cutie is reading one of my very favorite books, A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. It's beautiful and awful and amazing all at the same time. And I am so excited Seth is reading it.

 

Yay!

There are few things I love more than hearing someone loves my book. It is such an amazing happy feeling. I was soooo happy to get this text from my niece Taylor! It made my whole day!

And then this message from a fan whom I haven't met, but follows me on Facebook. I seriously need to send author's I love more notes, because it makes us giddy!

In the system!!!!

A friend of mine who works at the library messaged me asking if KA should be in the adult section or the YA section. That's how I found out the library finally purchased my books!! Yay!!!

May 23rd is a good day!!

It was a good day to get married.
It was a fun day to launch a debut novel.
And it's the day my long awaited books came! Yay for book #2!

Ice Cream Sundae party!!

Yay! Ice cream party time! When I was a kid I had a teacher who tried to motivate us to read by making a giant paper ice cream cone. We'd write the titles of the books we'd read on paper ice cream cones. One night I was telling Sydney about it and she wanted to do it. And then the boys did too. So, we started up a reading ice cream cone. And it didn't take long... around two weeks and our ice cream cone had reached the top of the door and it was time to party.

Heidi knows me so well. :) And when she saw this book, she had to buy it for me. Even though it wasn't Christmas or even close to my birthday. So, I got it for Sydney's birthday. Hee hee. :)

Blog Books

For the last few years I've turned my blog into books. I spend the year blogging, then weeks and weeks forming that blog into layouts for a book. Then I order the book, 2012 was about 100$, but their a record, a journal/scrap book of our lives and their totally worth it!

 

A couple of days ago I got my 2012 blog book, I was excited! My family had just eaten dinner. Sydney had eaten about 30 grapes! Then (because I'm brilliant :/) I gave her some sprite. Then I sat down to look at my precious, expensive, time consuming blog book. Sydney Belle ran over happily to me and puked all over my new blog book! Yes, the many grapes and carbonation wasn't the best combo. Luckily I was able to clean up the book and the only evidence of her puking are a couple wrinkled pages.
