Just Wednesday

Oh friends. I seriously had the funniest day--and it isn't even over yet! I was helping in Sydney's class this morning. I call kids over and they read to me. I was getting all set up. Two little chairs, books, but my pen didn't have any ink, so I got up to grab a new pen. I came back, looked at little Liam waiting for me, looked at my empty chair and sat. Only in the 2 seconds in between those things, looking at Liam and looking at my chair and turning to sit, another little ...guy needing a chair, grabbed my chair and slid it over to his spot, sending me splat on the ground. haha! It was hilarious and all the Kindergarteners were very concerned for my safety--except my own girlie, who somehow missed the whole thing. Later, I went to the college, I found my classrooms, bought my spring books, paid my fees... an hour later I walked out the door at the same exact second a big pile of snow slid from the college roof--yep, you guessed it, right on top of me. Cold, but funny and I saved a tiny bit of face--no one was around. Then--the best one-- after being a taxi driver for an hour to pick my children from school in this blizzard I follwed Sydney inside. She ran to her room and when I passed by she was dancing her heart out, her hands clutched together at her chest--just the happiest camper ever. Then I watched as she skipped over to her dresser where her fish tank is, she opened her hands and her fish fell back into the tank! SHE HAD BEEN DANCING WITH EMMA THE FISH! I'm pretty sure we have disabled this poor beta fish. She is alive, but she does not quite look the same. She looks crazy. Crazy. Crazy. Like I'm grateful she can't get out of her tank and strangle us crazy. I seriously have laughed a lot today! :)
Happy Wednesday friends.

My birthday

Thirty-Nine.
I'm not sure when I grew up... let alone my kids.
So crazy.
But 39 years of a wonderful life is pretty wonderful.
I had a really lovely birthday.
This is the time of year that I rarely get to see my husband.
He had a chance at being out of town for a region game on my birthday, but lucky me, he was playing at home the next day, so he wasn't out of town, he was home! Still, he had to put in a sub request for this day months ago, so I actually saw a lot of him!!!! He took me out to lunch and we spent the afternoon together. Then he had practice early, so he was off early! Woo! Woo!

Sam and I were selling things at another booth boutique. This one was a Friday and Saturday event. I only stayed a couple hours on Friday since it was my birthday and Landon came with me since he helped me make the WYO signs.

I've decided 39 is the year of bravery because we decided to take all of these kids to my favorite restaurant, the 9 iron. It's not exactly kid friendly and we don't ever ever ever take them. Tim has maybe been there once... once, if that. I can't remember. It was fun, it took forever, but it was fun and they were excited to be there.

 Then home for cake!
I have the best people around me.
So, yay for 39!

So-Chic Boutique

My first Boutique was mostly a huge success! I was excited to do it and happy Samantha talked to me about it, but then I got all nervous that being no-one would mean I'd sell no books... so I made 8 of my Wyoming flag signs that I love and others seem to love... so I killed myself for a week and half to do my school work, home stuff AND make the flags. Not one flag sold!!! But I should have had more faith in myself and my books, because my books were a great success. It was a good experience! Glad I did it. And very glad Sam was sitting right next to me selling her make up so I was never lonely. :)

Why Selfie?

Occasionally I feel like a teenage girl... taking "selfies"! I have always been a selfie taker--my sister's call then "Jenny's", but it was always with someone else and it was always to document that I was actually THERE too! I am always the one behind the camera. So an entire Christmas would go by and not one picture of me... thus selfie.
But the last year and a half I am supposed to "promote" myself and it's a weird thing. I need my thoughts, my pictures, my stories--out there. So, occasionally if I feel semi decent or if my mascara is really popping I take a lone selfie. It's weird. But it isn't terrible. Apparently I need a few pictures that instill a little confidence.

Rainy Morning

I love our mornings together.
Our boys are all gone by 8 and then we have more than an hour before the bus comes. We read, we color, we play, we play games... then we sit on the front porch, rain or shine and play I spy or Simon Says or we sing.
We're together and it's always good.

Reading Merit badge

It was bound to happen...
Raising 3 boy scouts...
I am now a merit badge counselor.
Nothing too difficult, The Reading Merit badge.
I have a cute little group of boys from several wards and hopefully I can keep in touch well enough with all of them so that they can get this badge.

Homework

I am doing a lot of it these days. Two classes that's it, but they are officially kicking my butt... like zero writing, scheduling in things like vacuuming kind of butt kicking.
Still, I am learning a lot and I am enjoying what I'm learning. I'm trying to get this juggling act balanced.

And then day two and three and four...

Everyday seems to be a little better...
Mostly we love the  new outfits though! :)
And our hour in the mornings together just us is pretty great.

One morning our Aven friend stopped by with his momma!

And on day 3 I started college. Just a couple of classes, but they are keeping me more busy than I wanted that's for sure! I cannot believe the work load! Yikes! I don't know that I'm gonna get any writing done this semester which is kind of sucky.
This was part... not even all of my homework after day 2.

Foot rubs

I am a weirdo who loves her feet rubbed. Every. Day.
And often my sweet middle boys will sit down and rub my feet for me. Love this kid!

At 5

I always thought this girl and I looked so much alike, but this side by side of us at 5 just shows me how much she looks like her daddy!! She is so beautiful!

Meeting my goal

I don't know why it's not always easy for me to talk about this--but I'm in Weight Watchers right now. It must be a prideful thing, though that doesn't make any sense to me. I've always been happy for people who are apart of it and its helped them. So, I don't know what's wrong with me. Because it has helped me so much. I just have a better understanding now of what my body needs and how to provide it with that. It's given me skills to ration and moderate my eating. Which I needed... apparently having chocolate cake after ever meal isn't a good idea...
Anyway, it's been three months and I have met my goal.
Yay!
Samantha took pictures of me getting my awards. haha.

Sickie

I have felt like poo.
I've had the sinus crap.
And it sort of feels like my face is going to fall off.
But the good news.
I have the best husband on the planet. He tries so hard to take care of me. He took the kids to the store to give me time to rest. Then he bought me juice and snacks and a movie.
I'm so thankful for a selfless loving husband who makes me feel loved healthy or not.

My Girl

I think I have 87 posts titled "My Girl" but that's how I feel when I see pictures of the two of us. I had to get something from the mall last week and heavens knows we can no longer enter the mall and home pretzel-less. Last time we got a pretzel she asked about the photo booth right by the Pretzel Maker. I told her what it was and she wanted to try it out. We didn't--I told her "next time". And she didn't forget. I am kind of a giant photo booth nerd. I have always loved photo booths and I've forced had Jeff do them with me many times. But this time it actually wasn't my idea. It was hers. And I sent this picture of our pictures to Jeff--yes, she is her momma's girl.

Skulls

We spoke in church and I wore this shirt.
I like this shirt. :)
But Jeff turned to me while we're sitting on the stage and said, "Those are skulls on your shirt, I thought they were polka dots."
Haha!
Yeah... nothing says love (Valentines Day) like human remains.

Writing Sweater

I've been having a lot of good writing days lately--and it's chilly so I always seem to be wearing this sweater.
Maybe it's lucky. :)

US

My Aunt Shirley passed away. I really wanted to go to her funeral, but with the icky roads and weather I didn't really want to go alone. So thankful for my unselfish loving husband who knew both of those things and agreed to go with me.
It was a pretty quick trip, but we ate somewhere fun, and had a nice long drive alone together.

Mom and me. Mom and me!
