Why Selfie?

Occasionally I feel like a teenage girl... taking "selfies"! I have always been a selfie taker--my sister's call then "Jenny's", but it was always with someone else and it was always to document that I was actually THERE too! I am always the one behind the camera. So an entire Christmas would go by and not one picture of me... thus selfie.
But the last year and a half I am supposed to "promote" myself and it's a weird thing. I need my thoughts, my pictures, my stories--out there. So, occasionally if I feel semi decent or if my mascara is really popping I take a lone selfie. It's weird. But it isn't terrible. Apparently I need a few pictures that instill a little confidence.
