EHS

My hometown has supported me so amazingly! In the paper twice. The library bought my book right away and asked me to speak. And now this! My niece sent me this picture to me from my old High School's library.

Serendipity book signing

What a fun book signing! It started out so slow, but then old friends... friends I haven't seen in years!!! came in and it was so much fun!

Heidi and Jolene Parker!!
It was so fun to see Heidi and to meet her kids. She was so sweet, she got all teared up and told me how proud she was of me.

My old friend from High School, Natalie Smith.

A couple of Becky's friends came and then a couple of strangers. One of them said to me, "I've never had an author sign a book before!!" She was all excited and the funny thing is, it's just as if not more exciting for me!! I'm thinking--some lady who doesn't know me wants my autograph?!

Surprise for Heidi

Oh Heidi.
Heidi worked harder to help me proof my book--than anyone! She has spent hours reading and editing. And then when LIKE HOME came out with an ARC copy full of typos, she went through and corrected so many errors! So many errors that my professional (paid!!) proofers should have caught but didn't. I can't pay the sweet girl, but I've really been wanting to say thank you!
So, I asked her for "help". And then surprised her with lunch and a pedicure!

Heidi really liked the massage chair. :)

Love you Heidi Shuler!!

So much love! So much support!

I feel so thankful for all the love and support from my friends and family. I've had so many pictures like these show up on facebook or my phone and they just make me HAPPY! Thank you to everyone for reading and all the kind words of encouragement!

Okay I cried (a few times) don't judge me! My new favorite book!!! Find it in Amazon and do yourself a favor and buy two.. One for you and know for your bestie;) can't wait for the next one Jen Bell-Atkinson! And this needs to be made into a movie!

#likehome best. Book. Ever.

Rips & Evanston Library Signing

It was so fun to go home to Evanston for a couple of book signings. My in-laws offered up their store for one and it was a great success! They have so many people who love them, people they have served over the years--and I definitely benefited! They supported them by supporting me. It was awesome. Lots of love! And a few good friends came too!
Kristi was there to help me as well which I was so grateful for!

I love this Gina girl! She has always been such a great support! She bought 5 books from Amazon!!! And had her book club read it!
Friday I was at Rip's, but Saturday I went to the library. My old friend Liberty Prophet was there! It was awesome to see her! It had been forever!

Pinedale signing

I went to Pinedale for their Rendezvous, they had a place for local authors. It wasn't super profitable, but it was fun and a good experience. And Kim came with me, so it was super fun! Love my Kimberly.
We met this cute cowboy who sat next to us, he was probably in his 60's and in a wheel chair and he had 3 books on life after his accident. He was pretty cool. :)

My cute friend Ida was the one who told me about it. It was so fun to see her--she's one of my Primary Presidents, so fun to see her non-Primary related. :)

Retractable

I got this in the mail and I had no idea what it was! I could not think of anything I had ordered and the strange shaped box was making me a little nervous. It was all wrapped up in its silver box and when Jeff pulled it out I just saw the back. White. And I thought I know I didn't order a screen! Then I saw the front. It was from my publisher! My retractable! Haha.

I made Landon stand by it to show how big it is.

LAUNCH DAY!

I was super excited... and nervous for my launch day party. Penny and Jay were so kind and happy to have it at Cowboy Donuts. Becky was so sweet to have shirts made and come over. Fara and Heidi were there the whole time and happy to help out.
I was so nervous we'd be see sitting there with a mound of books and nothing to do. And it wasn't like that at all. People were so kind and so supportive. It started at 12 and the first people there (The Duckawitz's) got there at 11:30. We had a line from then until 1:30! I couldn't believe it! It was amazing! I felt so very loved. :)

Jeff and the kids were there for most of it. Jeff took the kids home after a while, but came back. :)

These sweet ladies brought me this gift. Amy made this wreath from pages of the ARC book I gave her! So cool!!

This is Lyn Conoway. I was her student aide in her special education class room my Senior year in High School. That year changed my life. I studied special education in college because of that class. She was so sweet to come over.

It really was such a happy day! :)
