Oh kindergarten

First day.
She was up and ready by 7:30. She was excited. She asked me a dozen times if we could PLEASE just go!!!

She was so super excited to ride the bus and we let the ladies know she would be riding tomorrow--momma needed to take her today.
We got to school around 9:15 and we headed out to the playground. She ran off to play and I saw two of my boys old teachers. Mrs. Paul who taught Tim Kindergarten at Overland and Mrs. Zotti who taught Landon and Seth 2nd grade at Westridge. Sydney was off playing and Mrs. Zotti whom I love gave me a big hug and my tears started. But I cleaned myself up and got some control for when she'd be back. The teacher blew the whistle and the kids started to line up and suddenly my very excited girl was scared and in tears herself.
We found her buddy in her class... Kylee. She still wasn't super happy though.

Mrs. Zotti and Mrs. Paul were very cute and they both greatly suggested I not go in. It would only make it worse. So, I hugged her goodbye and felt like the biggest jerk ever for walking away as tears ran down her face. But of course I snuck in after them and peeked into her room... and even took this picture.... head in her hands and tears. Ahh! I just didn't want to do this!! It came too fast and she wasn't happy. And neither was I--I was in the hall looking ridiculous with my own tears pouring down. Then I saw Tammy! I said, Tammy she's crying!!! And Tammy ran right in and hugged her. She was still with her when I left fifteen minutes and then she texted me a half hour later and said she was doing great. Thank goodness for Tammy. I knew I would be a mess, but I really thought she would be fine. And her not being fine made it so much worse.

Stacey and I walked out together, planning to meet Sam who like Stacey and I was also a new no-kids-at-home momma now and Fara too. We went to Cowboy Donuts and talked and laughed and cried.
After school. We were both pretty happy to see each other.
It may be a long year.
