Before and After: the bedroom

We have wanted to paint our bedroom (the last white room in our house!!!) for oh, 8 years... The week before Jeff started back to the college he got a fire in him to do it! I've known for a few years what color I wanted it to be so we went to home depot bought some paint and in about a day he had the bedroom done! We hadn't planned to get the bathroom done with him heading back to work, but he was fast with the bedroom, so I went and grabbed more paint, this time a gray and a day later he had that done as well! Yay!!

Independence Paint

I've wanted to make 4th of July shirts with the kids forever. I found everyone shirts for under $4 bucks! I found several designs online and then let the kids pick, they all picked a different design and they did a great job painting them.

Spring Break Day #6

On day 6 Landon's carpet came!! We were all so excited. Landon went to a friend's house to play and while he was gone Jeff, Tim, Seth and I got him all moved in down stairs. He was so surprised!

I'm pretty sure that face says it all! :)

And this beautiful sweet boy of mine was so grateful. He thanked me, he thanked his dad. And then he said he needed to thank his Grandpa. :) So, he called him and grandma and thanked them too.

I promise no murder occurred...

Although it looks like it did!

Our big "helper" was playing the drums on a few paint cans. It was totally fine... until she tipped over a can. Jeff and I thought all the lids were on tight... clearly they weren't.

Official NY Giants colors :)

It was time to paint Landon's new room and he knew exactly what colors he wanted. New York Giants colors. Home Depot has NFL official colors... so it's exactly right!

He went back and forth how exactly he wanted those colors in his room, but we finally settled on an idea.

We went with their blue and gray and we'll add the red in with accents, like his bed comforter.

Table Time

We've started a new little routine in our days. 

Table Time. 

Is it fabulously creative--heck no. But it's time together and away from the TV and right now, that's what I'm going for. 

So, we've painted and written letters and we have plans for more fun mom and Syd together time activities. :) 

Face-painting

Sydney loves to paint. She was water coloring the other day. There was a knock at my door and when I turned around, this is what she looked like:

And as you can see she was pretty pleased with herself.

Well, the best part of the story is when I took her into the bathroom to get cleaned up. She kept looking down at her hands washing in the sink so I tapped the mirror and made her look at her face. Woo!

She was ticked! She put her grumpy face on and pointed at her face! Who in the heck painted all over her??

I cracked up!--And she got over it.

 

It started out as water coloring...

And turned into painting her nails.

 

 I have to say, I was pretty darn impressed with her accuracy!
