Some parents dread this time of year, but I love it. I love getting to talk to Tim's teacher, see what he's done, and hear what they have to say about my boy.
Again Tim got a 4.0. He's such a smartie. The third grade teachers have split subjects and so the students have all of the three teachers. So, I got to meet with all three. They had Tim present what he's done this quarter and tell what he liked the most about each subject. Then he pointed to each of his grades and gave me a reason for why he had that particular grade. I really like this approach, it makes the student as well as the parent more accountable.
Well, my cute boy looked at his 92% is social studies (his lowest grade by the way) and said, "I guess I got this grade, cuz I was pretty distracted during social studies this time." It was so cute and then his teachers told him that it was an excellent grade, still an A and he'd earned it. He'd worked hard and earned that grade.
Fun. :)

ah what a smart little boy. I'm hoping that you are planning on posting another book. I hope that you are able to get those two published. I was telling my sister about the ones you wrote and she sounded interested in reading them, I wanted see if it was ok with you.
That has got to feel so good as a parent to see you kid doing so well in school. Plus when they are good kids it is always fun to hear the teacher rave about how great your kid is, cuz he does have great parents, you know?
Way to go Timmy!!
What a smartie! I love the "I was pretty distracted" comment. Way to go Timmy.
