Kailey was graduating and I was going to go alone, and then my cute Landon said he really wanted to come with me. So, he played hooky from school and we headed out Friday morning. My college BFF lives in Cheyenne now, so I called Kris and asked her to meet me for lunch in Laramie. I haven't seen her in years and the last time I did was at my mom's funeral--it wasn't a fun meeting.
We went to Shari's for lunch since it was a college favorite.
YUM. Landon had a biggest breakfast and the kid ate it all! Stuffed hash browns, a sirloin steak, pancakes, eggs... I have no idea where he puts it all.
Then we went to the institute. It's changed so much. They have pictures through the years hanging up and I'm in one! :)
This was outside our dorm. McIntyre Hall--we didn't think we could get in because they have everything locked up now, so when this sign outside our dorm said 911, our dorm room, I snapped a quick picture...
but then, some guy let us in!! We felt pretty sneaky as we ducked into an elevator and rode it up to the 9th floor to our old room. Holy cow, so many memories. We had the best freshman college experience. So much fun, so much growing and so much goodness. I love this woman and I am so thankful we could experience it all together.
We also had this house that we loved. We called it the Custer house, because it was on the corner of Custer and 11th. We have so many pictures in front of this house. We had big plans. Live in the house and in the little house out back we'd let the missionaries stay there. We laughed at ourselves pretty good--but by the time we left the good ol' Custer house we decided if it ever came up for sale we'd probably have to buy it and let our kids live there during college... and of course we'd let the missionaries live in the back.
And then stinky park... the place where I let our gold fish Baxter go free.
Such a fun fun day. I needed it! I am so glad I got to reconnect with my Kris.
