Tanner

Sweet Kim has been talking about taking me to Colorado for a few years. But we've never done it. This year we made it.
12 years ago Kim and Ken were adopting a baby boy. That baby had complications during his birth and only lived 5 days. I can't imagine such a hard trial. Trying to adopt only to lose the baby. Needless to say they were devastated.
Since the adoption had never actually gone through, the baby was never theirs. The birth mom gave the baby a name and her family buried him.
We drove the 4.5 hours to Fruita Colorado and part of the way I read a binder Kim had kept with everything concerning baby Tanner. Their adoption application, letters, pictures, even a talk from Tanner's funeral. It was a beautiful and sad little tribute memorabilia. But she'd never been to the gravesite.

We stopped in Vernal for lunch at Freddy's and it was insanely delicious.

Such a beautiful drive!

Downtown Fruita. We were waiting for the flouriest to make up a flower arrangement for us.

It was an extremely quick trip. 9 hours in the car, 2 hours out. But it was so worth it. I'm so thankful I could go with her and that she could finally see where Tanner was laid to rest.
