A first for us

Saturday I was in Evanston. Jeff was in Utah. And Tim was at work. I got home just an hour and a half after Tim got home from work. I found him on the couch with a heating bag on his elbow. As a passenger in a golf cart he was tossed out at work. He wouldn't bend it or straighten it out completely and it hurt to touch. It was also swollen. It felt strange to me and I was worried. So, I called my mother in law, asked her expertly grandmother opinion and then I took him to the ER. Thankfully we got in right away and were only there 2.5 hours. Also, thankfully Heidi ran over and grabbed my other kids who were home alone. Landon can babysit for a bit, but I had no idea how long we'd be in the ER.
After examination and an x-ray the ER doctor told us he'd fractured his elbow and we needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. So, for now he's in a sling, since they don't like to cast elbows.
Sixteen years--we've never had a broken bone in our family--well, out of the kids. I have broken several toes. But the kids usually keep their bodies in tact! And since we've gotten rid of so many stairs--so have I!
