My boy is an Eagle!

I am one proud Momma! Tim had his board of review last night and passed with flying colors!
They asked about his favorite merit badge: Robotics
The most difficult: Cycling--President Hansen said he hadn't seen a boy before Tim choose cycling over hiking or swimming before, because the cycling badge is so hard.
His Eagle ceremony won't be for another month or so, but he is officially (and finally!!!) an Eagle! Yay!
So much work, but such an awesome accomplishment.
Ken Cutler, my old friend was one of Tim's old scout masters and he wrote a letter of recommendation for Tim. He emailed it to me and it was so wonderful, I needed to post and remember:

Dear Mr. Sell and Members of the Eagle Board,
It is my privilege to recommend the advancement of Tim Atkinson to the rank of Eagle Scout.  I’ve known Tim for several years now, and I’ve always been impressed with his peaceful disposition.  For about a year, I had the opportunity to be Tim’s scout master.  During that time, Tim worked very hard without complaint as we completed challenging tasks.
Tim has exemplified many of the principles of the scout oath and law:
A scout is courteous and kind – Tim has always demonstrated these attributes with fellow scouts, leaders, and others.
A scout is obedient and cheerful – It is a rare combination in a teenage boy, but these values make Tim an exceptional young man.  He fulfills his duties willingly and happily.  His cheery disposition is contagious, making him an excellent leader.
A scout is reverent – Tim knows when to have fun and when to be serious.  He’s soft spoken, but outgoing.  He respects others, and shows reverence in spiritual matters.
Tim has done his best to do his duty to God and his country.  He serves in his church and he serves in the community.  In scouting, he has worked hard to overcome weaknesses with humility and turn those weaknesses into strengths.  He worked especially hard to complete the swimming and cycling merit badges, in spite of their difficulty.
Other skills have come naturally to Tim in the fields of science and nature.  He’s very intelligent, yet humble.  Here is a young man that will represent Eagle Scouts well.  I’m certain he will continue to develop skills and attributes that will benefit himself, his family, and his community as he lives the ideals of scouting.
Please accept this recommendation for Tim’s advancement to Eagle.  Thank you.
Sincerely,

Kenneth D. Cutler
