This post is super late, but I was hoping to have an x-ray to go with it. I don't. :/
Back in July Tim had a well-child visit. The doctor sent him to the hospital for x-rays. The boy has scoliosis. I freaked out a little--not knowing what that meant exactly.
So, here's what it means: he grew so fast tat his spine is a crooked. In September Tim and I went to Primary Children's to a Orthopedic Surgeon. They showed me his x-ray and it was kind of crazy to see. His spine is 27 degrees off. At 50 degrees they do surgery. Where Tim is at they brace. It's a 24 hour, 7 day a week brace. BUT, she pointed out Tim's growth plate. He's almost done growing. And once he's done growing there is nothing they can do. So... they're doing nothing. We go back in a couple months for another consultation.
It doesn't really bother him right now, it probably will when he's older, but that also depends on his activity. So-- who knows.
Poor kid. It's been a doozy of a year for him!
