On our way. . .
Here we are on the airplane! Wahoo. Niether Jeff nor I had been on a plane in 12 years. Our boys were curious about the plane, so I took pics of us on it and out the window so they could see what it looked like. I decided not to bore you with those though. :)
This is the balcony outside our room. Our hotel was amazing. the lobby and buffet restaurant were in the same building, it only had two walls and half a roof. It was beautiful. Also, there were walkways everywhere leading to the pools and other restaurant as well as the different building to our rooms.
Inside our room.
This bar was in our room and it just made me laugh. The fridge was totally stocked with all our alcoholic needs as well. . . I guess it is Mexico. Wherever we went we were given tequilla. We checked in and they said welcome happily and handed us tequilla. Too bad we don't drink. :)
We didn't have tons of time that first night so we ate and then walked along the beach. It was fabulous.Day two. . .
The next morning we got up bright and early to go eat breakfast at some other hotel. (NO SLEEPING IN ON THIS TRIP!) It was a good breakfast, but they spent the next couple hours trying to sale us stuff.
We came back to eat lunch at one of the neighboring hotels, which was included in our all-inclusive deal. Wahoo. It was of course an out door place. This bird and several others would fly about the restaraunt when someone would leave they'd go eat their food. I had to duck a couple times so this guys wouldn't take my head off. Birds don't like me.
We took a ferry ride to Cozomel. Very fun.
This is Jeff in Cozomel. We shopped and snacked.
These two are timer pictures. The first I forgot to unzoom. I did this a couple times, had to share one. :)
Here we are shopping now back from Cozomel at 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. We had to take these for our boys.
Day three. . .
Day three we went to this amazing place. My favorite. Xcaret. It was a water park, but not the kind with tons of wild rides. We saw wild life and a Mexican history show. We also got to float down this river with flippers and snorkel stuff. This was my favorite. It was amazing. It took about an hour to float. How I wish I could have brought my camera!! I did find out I'm horrible at snorkeling though. Jeff was quite good at it, too bad he couldn't see much without his glasses.
Turtles. I fell in love with the turtles.
Here I am in a hamock at Xcaret. I loved this hamock. I would probably still be there if Jeff hadn't forced me to leave.
In a cave at Xcaret.
Day four. . .
So, this day we went to a place called Chichen Itza. A Myan city. It was amazing. (It've used that word a lot). :)
On this trip we got to see more of a true Mexican village. And how humble they live.
Finally after forever in a van we arrived at chichen Itza. Here is one of the Myan temples behind us.

These pics are horrible, but i couldn't take many good ones in this cave. We got to go into this really cool cave and swim there. that blur is Jeff swimming in the mucky water.

After we got back from Chichen Itza we were tired, but I made Jeff dress up and take me out. We ate on 5th Avenue, out in the street. This small cute old mexican man came up to us with his guitar and asked if we'd like a song. We said sure and I was shocked when a booming voice came out of him. 5th Avenue is packed and I was a bit embarassed by our private song. :)
This was the day we left. We look like dorks here. But every picture I'd look at that we'd taken I'd say "I need to suck in my gut and stand up straight." So right before the timer pic went off Jeff said stand up straight! Suck it in! And we both dramatically did. yeah, so we look like dorks. O well. We had so much fun! I hope you can all go one day.
Okay now for the top 4 things we heard in Mexico!
#4- "Hey I've got what you need! Come and see me." (say it in a mexican accent)
#3- (To Jeff) "Are you Mexican?", "No??!" Ya, they all said his spanish was too good to be American
#2- "Have some tequilla!"
And the #1 thing while in Mexico.. . .
"You must be Honeymooners!"
