40*Forty*40

My Jeff is turning 40 this year.
{Whoa... that's crazy.}
Anyway, in August he is so busy we hardly see him, so on July 31st I threw him a 40th birthday party with lots of our good friends. About a month before I asked him if we were free that day. When he said yes and asked why, I told him I didn't want to tell him why. :) Then I invited all his friends... and wrote it on the calendar... and then about a week before I told him about it.

When everyone came in they had to sign in. I had 40 cokes (courtesy of Ben!) and 40 strips of paper. Everyone had to write a couple memories of Jeff and tape it to a coke. Then I made a "I'd rather be 40 than..." and everyone had to sign that too--with a response. :)

My sweet friend Beth Gard had the camera.... 470 pictures later we had a lot of fabulous candid and not so candid shots. hahahaha

I asked the Hisers to help me cook and they basically did all the cooking!! Love them!

Jason and Jan Crompton- Jeff life long friend.
Matt Robles- Jeff's assistant coach.

Shulers and Cutlers!

I had one game... a take on Jimmy Fallon's Egg Russian Roulette.
I had 11 hard boiled eggs and 7 raw. They were in a carton numbered.
I had 18 statements about Jeff. Each couple would pick a number and that was the number of their egg and their statement. They would guess true or false and if they got it right we smashed the egg on Jeff's head. If they got it wrong their spouse got to smash it on their head.
It was fun. Really fun. Messy, but fun. :)

The first raw egg, I got to smack onto my husband head. I'm not gonna lie, it was really fun. :)

One of my statements was that Jeff dressed up like a cowboy as a kid and sang to an audience. :) I had to bust out the picture to prove it! It's my favorite!!

There was one egg left...
Everyone had been such good sports.
Gary thought Jeff should get to smack an egg on my head if he could get the last true or false right...
Of course he did, but Jeff is too sweet to smash a raw egg into my head, so I had to do it myself!

When my mom turned 40 she had a big party and she wore this shirt that said, "I'd rather be 40 than pregnant". I really wanted to do something like that for Jeff, so I came up with this...
Heidi helped me to make the shirt!

The Shulers gave him a selfie stick and self portrait of Kyle.
hahahaha

The Hiser's gave him a bag filled with vitamins and medicines and 80's things. It was funny!

Cake and Kubb. :)
